Player shuffle

Fair badminton player shuffle so nobody sits three games in a row

The app picks who plays next, so everyone gets a fair share of games and new partners — and nobody has to be the bad guy.

Even play time

Sit-outs are shared, so nobody waits twice as long as everyone else.

New partners all night

Pairings keep mixing, so you’re not stuck with the same partner every time.

Your call when you want it

Winner stays, King of the court, Americano, Mexicano — or move people yourself.

Sound familiar?

  • Same four people somehow end up on court every round.
  • Late arrivals get stuck waiting while regulars keep rotating.
  • You spend half the evening organising instead of playing.

Start with fair shuffle. Change the vibe if you want.

Most clubs leave it on fair auto rotation and forget about it. If your group likes king-of-the-court energy or closer mixed-level doubles, switch the mode when you begin the session.

What most clubs use

Fair auto rotation

After each game, the next lineup comes from games played, recent sit-outs, and partner variety — not who won. One shared bench across every court. Headcount goes up or down mid-evening and the shuffle still makes sense.

Prefer winners stay on?

Winners keep the court; rested players come on to challenge. Keep pairs together for classic king-of-the-court, or split winners with two-up two-down so partners keep mixing.

Mixed levels in the group?

Still fair about who gets court time — then doubles sides are split by skill rating so a beginner and a strong player are not dumped on the same side every game.

Run the night from your phone

Open the live session, tick who’s here, and start. One to twelve courts. Tap who won, enter the losing score, mark complete — then the next lineup is ready.

  1. 1Between gamesScore in a few taps — singles or doubles, to 11, 15 or 21. Built for sweaty hands in a noisy hall, not a spreadsheet at a desk.
  2. 2When one court finishes firstBring fresh players in, reshuffle the same four into new teams, wait for the other courts, or rotate waiting courts together. Your call.
  3. 3Fairness you can seeGames played and rest counts stay on the rotation board. If something looks off, you fix it yourself — see below.

Someone walks in late? Add them to the bench. Someone’s done for the night? Mark them done. Everyone else sees the same courts update in realtime, so you’re not shouting across the hall.

The shuffle suggests. You decide.

This is the part people worry about with “automatic” apps — and the reason clubs keep using ShuttlSync. Auto picks are a starting point. If you don’t like a lineup, change it.

  • Tap a player, then a court slot — or drag them on and off the bench.
  • Swap sides, move someone to another court, clear a court and rebuild it.
  • Override any suggestion in a couple of taps. The next auto round works around what you set.
